The Maze Runner Movie Review

I never wrote a book review on The Maze Runner, but I can tell you right now, I really hated that book.No offense for those of you who enjoyed it, I have nothing against you, but I just did not enjoy that book. The concept was great, but the way it was written really irked me. The book was very repetitive and things popped up into Thomas's head at the mist random moments. It was definitely my least favorite book that I've ever read. Now this is one of the few times in my whole life that I'll ever say this, so read carefully, the movie was better than the book. I'm giving this movie an 8/10 stars. It was really enjoyable and had great action sequences. I think that it helped that we didn't see directly into Thomas's head like we did in the book, that made it pretty boring. Also, in the book there's that weird telepathic thing, I'm glad they got rid of that.
The movie was so short though, only one hour and fifty seven minutes, so they really had to cram a lot of information into that, they also cut a bunch of parts out, but I didn't really mind since it still made sense. A smart thing the writers/producers did, was find an attractive male lead that was fairly well known. I, myself, didn't watch teen wolf, but if you do, you'll definitely know Dylan O'Brien, he's an excellent actor, I'll give him that.
My favorite character from The Maze Runner is/was Newt. I am very pleased with who hey chose to play Newt in the movie, though I wish he had a bigger part. The guy who layer Newt was also really thin, like he seemed kind of like he had a twiggish build. But his cuteness and accent made up for it, no worries there. Like I said before I wish Newt was a bigger part of this movie. In the book he and Thomas become a sort of friends but there wasn't really enough time for that or even getting to know Newt that well in the movie which I found rather disappointing.
I didn't particularly like the actress choice for Theresa, she just didn't really fit the part for me. Though, all the other actors chosen for the parts I think were excellent. The guy who played Gally was the same guy who played (Augustus?) From the Voyage of the Dawn Treader and he had the perfect look for Gally, just like all the other actors (Besides Theresa) fit their parts well. Alby and Minho were just as I imagined them.
The Maze, the grievers and the plot seemed a lot more intense and interesting for me than they did in the book. When I was reading the book I was immensely bored, but when I watched the movie, I was disappointed when it was coming close to the ending. I think I'll definitely go to see the next two movies if they make them, but I still plan on not continuing this series unless someone gives me a very good reason to.

The Infinite Sea by Rick Yancey

Picture
Remember how I said I was going to read Daughter of Smoke and Bone next? Well, obviously I lied. I got 7 pages into Daughter of Smoke and Bone and then realizing that the Infinite Sea was coming in the mail the next day, I stopped. I've heard so many positive and negative reviews on Daughter of Smoke and Bone I'm not really sure what to think of it. If any of you have been keeping up with my blog for a while now, like since May, then you'll know that I was not impressed by the 5th Wave, it was hard to get into and I only slightly got into it towards the end. This book was completely different. It didn't have to introduce the world and it could just throw you right into the action, I loved it. This is going to be a spoiler free review, actually I might leave a few spoilery comments at the end, under a warning, but there's not going to be a whole part spoiling the book, for the most part this is going to be spoiler free. If you haven't read The 5th Wave then it will be spoilery, but I highly recommend you read the 5th Wave, even though it was boring, just to get to this book, it's amazing. So if you haven't read The 5th Wave, go do that so you can read this book then go read my 5th Wave review THEN come back here. Byeeee. Back to this book, it was a lot of fun to read. My favorite Point of View was Evan's. Really, I only read this book for Evan anyway. In my last review I wasn't attached to the characters at all, but now I really care if Evan or Cassie die. Especially Evan. I'm sorry if you think it was a spoiler that Evan lived, I thought it was kinda obvious that he lived, but sorry if you didn't! This book was just so short, only three hundred pages, it didn't really give you enough time to get to know the characters any more than you already did, it just gave you time to watch fight after fight after fight. Like I said in my review of the 5th Wave I definitely like Evan better than Ben, I think Ben would be better with Ringer or someone else. He seemed a little irritable in this book, which is understandable.
Evan and Cassie's relationship is so cute in this series, their chemistry is spot on. I love that he took out all those people while she was going inside to save her brother just to save her life. Is this series supposed to be a Trilogy? I don't know, if you do, you should tell me in the comments or in contact or somewhere! I think I might go back and reread a bit of the 5th Wave now before reading Daughter of Smoke and Bone just because I like the characters more. Rick put some other characters' point of views in this book, like Poundcake's and Ringer's. I didn't especially like that because I wasn't attached to either of them as much as Cassie, Evan or even Ben. It especially annoyed me how much of Ringer's point of view we get at the end of the book, like almost one hundred pages out of a three hundred paged book. I want more Evan! Haha.
I'm giving this book an 8/10 stars even though Ringer and Poundcake's point of views annoyed me kinda I loved the action and hearing about the characters and stuff. The ending was adorably annoying, adorable, sure, but annoying because I have to wait like another year for the next book. The movie for the 5th Wave comes out January 26, 2016. It's a long wait, guys. The guy they picked for Evan looks a little old, honestly, but I think the movie will be great. They better do it right because if they make the movie right because this series could be the next big thing. Oh, the guy they picked for Ben is Rider from Melissa and Joey, this is gonna be weird.
Back to the book, I really liked the realistic relationships between the characters, because obviously Cassie's not gonna get along with all of them immediately and it makes sense that she and Ringer don't rub well together. We don't get to see as much of Cassie's bad assery in this book but we still get to see a little. You should go read this book.

A FEW SPOILERS BELOW FOR THE INFINITE SEA

When we got Evan's POV I was off the charts happy. Then we met Grace and ugh, she's annoying isn't she? The ending of this book, let's talk that, shall we? YES Evan isn't dead, I didn't think he was, Rick probably won't kill him off OR he'll kill him in one of the last books for impact on Cassie. I loved the "Then I'll come to you." It was so cute. I felt so bad about how badly Evan was injured throughout this book, but he was able to survive, which is the point, I guess.
Then there's Cassie who's kinda caught in her feelings toward Evan, not sure whether he's really dead or alive, when he is alive not sure whether she actually really likes him or not.
I really actually kinda enjoyed the part where Evan was shot and under the car. not because he was shot, but because he was comparing it to the same situation Cassie had been in in the last book. Then Cassie's comment "You shot me in the leg, I shot you in the leg, we're even." Haha. He better live, Rick. If you're reading this Evan better live, and I really want Cassie to end up choosing him, which I think she will but if she doesn't I at least want him to live okay? Okay.

Ruby Red Movie

So first off-- THIS MOVIE IS IN GERMAN. Unfortunately I do not speak German, but fortunately I found it in English after a lot of web searching I found this website that allows you to stream it in English free no account needed click here to watch it. I was not sure what I thought of this movie. First off it's nothing like the book. Like very very very very very very very very (x1000000000) loosely based. But like I said, not as bad as City of Bones or Percy Jackson. To read my Ruby Red, Sapphire Blue, and Emerald Green review clickhere . First off I did not exactly like the actor choice. Second, seriously would it ever hurt the directer to actually write it according to the book? You'll never hear a book fan say 'God that was wayyy to much like the book, I hated it'. I did not like Gideon in the first book because he was an ass. I didn't like Gideon in the movie because he was downright annoying. The end scene of the book is like in the beginning of the movie and in the book when they are all like 'she must see the count!' in the movie they're like 'she shouldn't see him, no' and the prophecies, oh dear raziel, first off they changed the prophecy second they were more of a nursery rhyme that everyone knew!! Not some forbidden thing. Also you don't find out she's

SPOILER

Immortal until the last book!

SPOILER OVER

So yeah this movie kinda pissed me off more than I liked it.
I'd give it a 5/10 stars. This is an action/adventure/romance/sci-fi movie. I guess it didn't help that the voices spoke differently from the people since they were actually speaking german.....
Oh yeah, and I'm not being racist here, I have no problem with Lesley being black but in the book she's described as vein blonde with blue eyes and I'm a stickler for the book, so that upset me. And SINCE WHEN is there a dance at the end of Ruby Red? I think I missed that part, oh wait, it doesn't actually exist -_-

Captain America The Winter Soldier

Look what I actually got around to seeing. So I'm typing this off my iPod and I have 3 minutes before I have to leave to go to school so this may be a bit short. GO SEE IT, this movie is better than the first Captain America. I would rate it 9.5/10 stars, see? That's how much I liked it!
Anyway I finished Maze Runnee by John Dashner yesturday so the review should be up someday lol (happy birthday to.... Me!) (Posted on my other blog 4/22/14)

So here's something to ask people who say they love Divergent, oh yeah? what is the significance of a butter knife, huh? Like seriously, the butter knife is missing, really?! Also Uriah, no Uriah. And No Lynn and Marlene. Like I saw Lynn's name on the score bored but that was literally it. Caleb is supposed to kinda believe Tris when she comes to him, and all throughout the movie they're just like You're Divergent that's dangerous, it could kill you, they remind Tris that way too many times. And how could Tris be scared of intimacy if she had it the night before? Also like 'you have to take the Dauntless way out'?! What was that?! Like seriously in Tobias's fear landscape they do jump off the building, then in the box they crouch together so it gets smaller and smaller. Then In her fear landscape she makes a gun, not swatting at them with a branch, then she does break the glass, and to put out the fire, she calls down rain, then she climbs the rocks, the Tobias part was kinda realistic, but she never shot her family! WTF!!!!! And she never gets kicked out of training. And she faints after she gets attacked. So many things they were missing. and she never meets with Jeanine and makes her shut down the computer! Seriously! I just think they could have done a lot better. But overall, it was pretty good at following the book, I guess, well comparing to how much City of Bones followed the book, yeah, it really followed the book.

The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks Book and Movie Review

OK I am so bored waiting for May 27. So I started a new book IDK but it's a romance (I don't usually read them)
#1 best selling author Nicholas Sparks's (wrote The Notebook, The Vow, etc.) new novel is at once a compelling family drama and heart trending tale of young love. Seventeen year old Veronica "Ronnie" Miller's life was turned upside-down when her parents divorced and her father moved from New York City to Wilmington, North Carolina. Three years later, she remains angry and ailentated from her parents, especially her father... until her mother decides it would be in everyone's best interest if she spent the summer in Wilmington with him. Ronnie's father, a former concert pianist and teacher, is living a quiet life in the beach town, immerst in creating a work of art that will become the center-piece of the local church. The tale that unfolds is an unforgettable story of love on many levels-- first love, love between parents and children-- that demonstrates, as only Nicholas Sparks novels can, the many ways that love can break our hearts.... and heal them. (Gotten straight off amazon)
Romance/Drama
I would rate this book a 7/10 stars. Because it was a really good romance (ADORABLE) and a cute story, but as I've said before, I don't really like romances compared to action/adventure/romance I like the action and the fighting. :)
If you read The Spectacular Now, or The Fault in our Stars this is a must read. (and liked them of course)
MOVIE
The movie was good (especially liam <3) I would rate it a 6/10 stars because as usual, it didn't follow the excellent book.

Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters Review

I loved this movie.
Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters
Rated R for violence (gore), Cursing, and a little bit of sexual content
Action/ComedySynopsis: Hansel & Gretel are bounty hunters who track and kill witches all over the world. As the fabled Blood Moon approaches, the siblings encounter a new form of evil that might hold a secret to their past.
It's better than it sounds.
I would rate this move a 9/10 because it's awesome and I really love the fighting sequences, and it had a really good story line. I also loved the weapons it was like old-fashioned but updated weapons.
I always make things sound retarded though, but you should so watch this it's awesome.
Starring:
Gemma Arterton as Gretel (Also known from Unfinished Song as Elizabeth, Prince of Persia: Sands of Time as Tamina, Clash of the Titans as Lo, The Disappearance of Alice Creed as Alice Creed, or Runner Runner as Rebecca Shafran)

Pihla Vitala as Mina (Also Known from Hellfjnord as Rina, The Hustlers as Anna, and Tears of April, Miina Malin)
Thomas Mann as Ben (Also known from Beautiful Creatures as Link, and Fun Size as Roosevelt)

The Spectacular Now Book and Movie Review

Synopsis: SUTTER KEELY. HE’S the guy you want at your party. He’ll get everyone dancing. He’ ll get everyone in your parents’ pool. Okay, so he’s not exactly a shining academic star. He has no plans for college and will probably end up folding men’s shirts for a living. But there are plenty of ladies in town, and with the help of Dean Martin and Seagram’s V.O., life’s pretty fabuloso, actually.

Until the morning he wakes up on a random front lawn, and he meets Aimee. Aimee’s clueless. Aimee is a social disaster. Aimee needs help, and it’s up to the Sutterman to show Aimee a splendiferous time and then let her go forth and prosper. But Aimee’s not like other girls, and before long he’s in way over his head. For the first time in his life, he has the power to make a difference in someone else’s life—or ruin it forever.
Review:
I loved this book. I read it in less than a day, that's not exactly surprising with me because I usually do that with most books, but this was a Romance novel. I don't read romance novels, my type of book is more of am action/adventure/romance/supernatural/fantasy book. OK back to the book. So this book- it broke my heart but was amazing at the same time. I thought that Sutter was an interesting character and I felt for him. Though he is a REAL IDIOT at the end, but we'll get to that later. Then there's Aimee. She's pushed around and cant even stand up for herself. Meeting Sutter changes that. She gets more courage and she's more confident in herself. I laughed in almost 'embarrassment' when Aimee cursed for the first time, that part was just cute and funny. I liked how this book was realistic, it wasn't like everyone was in a perfect heaven of happiness and they all stayed friends forever. No it showed that people grew apart, that's realism. I would rate this story 8/10 stars.because well the dialogue was a little the same when Sutter goes, and she was like, "blah blah blah,." So I'm like "blah blah blah." (they don't actually say blah blah) I took off one star for that, and I also took off a star for the ending.
SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DO NOT READ BELOW IF YOU HAVE NOT READ THE BOOK SCROLL DOWN UNTIL YOU SEE THE BOLDED WORDS FOR THE SPOILER TO BE OVER!
WTF Cassidy, Marcus, and Ricky?! You want him to break up with Aimee?! Sure he's KINDA a bad influence on her, but she can make her own choices. Now you 3 have this big idea that he should break up with her for her own good so NOW he has that stupid idiotic idea in the back of his brain. How can you end the story like that Tim? I could really use a sequel right now! HES PLANNING ON BREAKING UP WITH AIMEE AND YOU END THE BOOK THERE! like WTF was that?! YOU CANT DO THIS TO ME!!! I NEED TO KNOW HE DOESNT BREAK UP WITH HER! THEY'RE MEANT TO BE TOGETHER! I'm done, I'm just done, I cannot handle this, it is painful, very painful.
SPOILER OVER
Facts:
this is a Romance/Drama story
There was a film adaption of it released the summer of 2013 staring Shailene Woodley as Aimee and Miles Teller as Sutter (Yes people I still ship Fourtris)
It has a depressive ending
OTHER THAN THAT! Read the book, it's really good, and I think that you should read it, even if its not your genre its not mine either, but I read it. And I liked it.

MOVIE
So if you want the synopsis scroll down a few blog posts to my book review.
I would rate this move an 8/10 stars, because it was good, it followed the book pretty well. The Spectacular Now made in 2013 directed by James Ponsoldt
Starring:
Shailene Woodly as Aimee Finecky (Also known from The Descendants playing Alexandra King, The Secret Life of the American Teenager as Amy Jurgens Loved that show, Divergent playing Beatrice Prior, and The Fault in our Stars as Hazel Grace)
Miles Teller as Sutter Keely (Also Known from 21 and Over playing Miller, Footloose playing Willard, Rabbit Hole as Jason, Divergent as Peter, and That Awkward Moment as Daniel) I do ship FOURTRIS
Bree Larson as Cassidy (Also known from 21 Jump Street as Molly Tracey)
Masam Holden as Ricky (Also known from Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn as Micheal Sullivan)
Dayo Okeniyi as Marcus West (May also know him from his role as Thresh in The Hunger Games)
I thought this movie was going a little bit quick, but it was 95 minutes, and it was really good. I thought Shailene and Miles were perfect for their main roles of Sutter and Aimee. Over all I liked this movie, especially the ending, yes I liked that A LOT better than the book's ending, you'll understand why if you read the book and seen the movie.
BTW it's Rated R
This is my favorite part and it's adorable and the background music is called Walk in Trees and I love listening to it, it always manages to make me happy

The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones Movie Review

I DID NOT LIKE THIS MOVIE.  2/10 stars. In fact it only gets that much because I loved the books. I did not like the choice of caters and I did not like that they changed virtually everything.  If you liked this movie GO READ THE BOOKS by Cassandra Clare. Then you will reconsider your decision, if you liked the movie and the books GO REREAD THE BOOKS. Just everything was messed up. The plot I mean do you remember any battle at the institute, like ever? IT'S MADE FROM SHADOWHUNTER BLOOD DEMONS CANNOT GET IN. The Ravener looked like a hellhound which only appears in book 4 and the DEMONS DO NOT INHABIT BODIES. ALSO the demon-Dorothea walked straight outside, I was like NO that is not right. Where is the sensor? Like seriously no sensor just magic magnetic ash. Okay then. I was yelling at my TV the whole time. Ignore my previous review I was tired and I have no idea how I was in such a bad state of mind that I gave it an 8/10 stars, I'd say 0 stars if I didn't love Cassie so much. ALSO IT GIVES AWAY THE SIBLINGS THING. NO YOU CANNOT DO THAT. There were just too many things wrong with this movie to put in a review. I would not recommend watching this movie to anyone unless you have some anger and need to gel at someone.

Picture
This movie has Jamie Campbell Bower as Jace Wayland (or as we believe) Lily Collins as Clary Fray (Clarissa Adele Morgenstern) Kevin Zegers as Alec Gideon Lightwood (Alexander) Jemima West as Isabelle Sophia Lightwood, Robert Sheehan as Simon Lewis, Robert Maillet as Blackwell, Kevin Durand as Pangborn, Godfrey Gao as Magnus Bane, Lena Headey as Jocelyn Fairchild, Aiden Turner as Luke Garrowway (Lucian Graymark) Jonathan Rhys Mayers as Valentine Morgenstern, etc. It was directed by Harald Zwart and script written by Jessica Postigo
The movie is based of Cassandra Clare's first book in the series The Mortal Instruments.
