Rebel Belle by Rachel Hawkins

Picture
Great book. I can't wait for Miss Mayhem, coming out this spring. This book was a very fun read and I highly recommend it to you all. I would give Rebel Belle a 7.8/10 stars, the beginning was pretty normal and cliche but about halfway through the book really kicked off and became really interesting. I enjoyed the characters and the character development, the action scenes were fun and the relationships seemed realistic.
The protagonist of this book is Harper Price, she's that popular girl, Queen Bee, head of everything, miss perfect. She, like every cliche popular girl, has an arch nemesis who's kind of a nerd- David Stark. On homecoming night, something..unexpected happens. She's gifted with the supernatural powers of a paladin, a supernatural warrior made to protect. And guess who she has to protect? David Stark. Harper's world is turned upside-down in less than a month, will she be able to handle her new duties?
Yeah, I really don't know how to summarize this book without spoilers!
Here's the real summery:
Harper Price, peerless Southern belle, was born ready for a Homecoming tiara. But after a strange run-in at the dance imbues her with incredible abilities, Harper's destiny takes a turn for the seriously weird. She becomes a Paladin, one of an ancient line of guardians with agility, super strength and lethal fighting instincts.

Just when life can't get any more disastrously crazy, Harper finds out who she's charged to protect: David Stark, school reporter, subject of a mysterious prophecy and possibly Harper's least favorite person. But things get complicated when Harper starts falling for him—and discovers that David's own fate could very well be to destroy Earth.

With snappy banter, cotillion dresses, non-stop action and a touch of magic, this new young adult series from bestseller Rachel Hawkins is going to make y'all beg for more.
As I said before, I highly recommend you guys read this book, I finished it in practically one sitting. Sorry it's such a short review- I hardly took notes- most of my notes were about Ryan to be honest. He's Harper's boyfriend, and he's actually a pretty great guy and the part at the end- wow was not expecting that.
(My review on Crown of Midnight should be up soon and it'll be longer! I swear!)
